Before I started Mr Science, I did several guest strips for other comics.
I thought some of you might be interested to see them, so I've put up links
to them (yeah, I coulda just posted 'em here, but this way some of my favorite
web comics get a few extra hits in their archives, and you'll know I'm not
just making it up... And I'm lazy).
My first guest strip is actually something of a claim to fame. It was
for Nick Yu's Bad Boys of Computer Science guest strip series, BBRO.
This was the first submission
, shown on May 2, 2001. Seven days later, Nick Yu had a guest strip for
MegaTokyo published
here
. Notice anything about Largo's t-shirt? Then on
June 1, 2001
, MegaTokyo first began to use it and has been repeated often in the course
of the series. Now, I can't say with absolute certainty that I was the first
person to ever make use of this phenomenon, but the evidence does appear
to say that MT's use of it can be traced back to begin at me.
My other BBRO entries can be found
here
, and was chosen as the
feature strip here
which links to my other 2 entries. But if you're lazy, you can just click
here
and here
.
MegaTokyo had a guest strip contest a while back for when Piro and Largo
would be away at Otakon. Unfortunately, the guest strips page does not appear
to be there anymore. There were 308 guest strips, after all. But if it was
just moved from it's original place and anyone else has it, I'd be happy
to link it here. But until then, you'll just have to see if you can find
them elsewhere, like
this one from Mac Hall
, or this one from me
.
One of my favorite web comics, Nukees, had a coloring contest for any and
all of the strips in the archive. While that's technically not a "guest
strip", it's still something I did for another web comic and my work can
be found on the 3 consecutive days,
here
, here
and here
.
That's all
for now. Hopefully, there will be plenty more in the future.
